“Faith – belief that is not based on proof”
“What could possibly be taking so long? It’s a simple test, either she is or she isn’t!” Warrick exclaims as he paces back and forth through the living room.
“Ricky, you have to calm down. Tina said she would call us as soon as she knows the results, good or bad. Sit down before you wear a hole in the carpet.”
Sitting down next to his lover, “I can’t help it Gil. We’ve tried this twice, and we only really had enough money for the first procedure. If this one doesn’t take, we can’t afford to try again.”
Reaching over and grabbing Warrick’s hand, “Warrick, I know how important this is to you, to us, okay? I know we can’t afford to try again, but we might not need to. Maybe we will get lucky, and we won’t have to worry about that.”
“I know.” Getting up Warrick begins to pace the floor again, “What is taking so long anyway?”
“Warrick sit down and calm down. You are always telling me to have faith; where’s yours? Whatever happens, we’ll get through it together, okay?”
“Okay. I’m sorry baby; all this waiting is making me a nervous wreck.”
“I know me too.” Hearing a knock, Warrick starts for the door but Gil stops him, “I’ll answer the door.”
Looking out the peephole, Gil opens the door quickly, “Tina? I thought you were going to call with the results.”
“I was but I just wanted to give you guys the results in person. Where’s ‘Rick?”
Gesturing to the living room, Gil takes her to Warrick.
“So who was at- Tina? What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, except that-” Reaching into her purse, Tina pulls out two cigars, “you’re pregnant!”
“What? Really?” asks Warrick in disbelief.
“Yep.”
“Yes!” yells Warrick as he hugs his lover excitedly; before kissing him deeply. Warrick then gives Tina a hug.
“You guys are gonna make great Dads!”
Placing a kiss to her cheek, “Thanks; now come over here and sit down.” Gil guides Tina over to the couch, making her sit down.
Looking at her friends, Tina laughs, “It’s gonna be a long nine months.”
