“Do you know why Catherine called us over to her place?”

 

“No, but she sounded frantic, so I’m assuming it’s something about Lindsey,” Warrick answered as the headed quickly up to Catherine’s door, worry evident on both of their faces.

 

The door was swung open quickly, by an anxious looking Nick Stokes, “Finally! It’s about time you got here; follow me.”

 

Exchanging a worried look with each other, Warrick and Gil followed Nick into the living room. Stopping short when the saw members of their team standing around in Catherine’s living room, which was decorated with blue and pink flowers and streamers and a table overflowing with gifts. “Surprise!” yelled everyone, with Nick smiling proudly back at them.

 

Quirking an eyebrow, Gil looked at the smiling faces of everyone, “I’m sorry to disappoint you, but it’s not my birthday, nor is it Warrick’s.”

 

Still smiling, Nick replied, “We know that Griss, this is not a birthday party.”

 

“Really, well what is it?”

 

“A baby shower, Gil, for us.” Warrick replied as Catherine gave him a quick hug. “Although I asked Cath and Nick not to do this.”

 

Hugging his best friend, Nick laughed, “Like we were gonna listen. Besides, we weren’t the only ones that wanted to celebrate your good news.”

 

Looking around, Gil and Warrick noticed that several people from the lab were in attendance. They expected to see Jim Greg, even Al Robbins; but the surprises were Archie, Jacqui, and Bobby Dawson. Even David Hodges was there, standing away from the crowd almost hidden in the shadows, but there nonetheless.

 

Touched by their show of support Warrick smiled, “Thanks guys.”

 

Checking his watch, Gil looked up and offered his thanks in his own way, “Who’s at the lab?”

 

A roar of laughter went through the crowd as Catherine ushered Warrick and Gil to the sofa so they could open the mountain of gifts.
